The latest data on Snapchat age demographics show that nearly two out of five (38.1%) of the platform’s users are aged between 18 and 24. With the number of Snapchat users worldwide estimated at 397 million, this breaks down to around 151.3 million active users in this age range.

There are slightly more male users than female users in this age category, with males consisting of 20.3% and females making up 17.8%. This also means that around one in five people using Snapchat is a male between 18 and 24 years old.

The second-largest age group of Snapchat users is 25 to 34. Those in this range make up 23.4%—just under one-quarter—of all Snapchat users. Much like the 18- to 24-year-old group, there are slightly more male users (12.1%) than female users (11.3%).

Together, these two age groups account for the majority (61.5%) of all Snapchat users. This means that the average age of Snapchat users falls between 18 and 34. 

Snapchat users between 13 and 17 years old constitute the third-largest group—19.7% of all users are in this age range. Unlike those in the 18- to 24-year-old and 25- to 35-year-old categories, there are more female users (10.3%) than male users (9.4%). 

The fourth-largest age range of Snapchat users is 35 to 49. Just 14% of people that use Snapchat frequently are in this category. Users aged 50 and above make up the smallest group—comprising just 3.8% of all active Snapchat users.

Snapchat’s age demographics look similar to those of rival networks like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, in that the majority of its users are aged between 18 and 34. 

Users aged 55 and up also form the smallest group of users for these other popular social media platforms.
