Snapchat ad revenue: 2017–2024

So, how much money does Snapchat make from ads?

According to a recent analysis, Snapchat’s ad revenues are forecast to be $6.11 billion in 2024. This covers all paid forms of advertising on the platform, including those appearing on desktops, laptops, smartphones, and tablets. This is the first time its ad revenues are expected to exceed the $6 billion milestone. 

Snapchat’s ad revenues in 2024 mark a 14% annual increase from 2023’s figures and a slowdown from the previous year’s growth rate. In 2023, revenues rose by 16.5%. 

The study shows that Snapchat’s revenue growth from ads has been decelerating in recent years. In 2018, the platform surpassed the $1 billion mark in ad revenue for the first time, after a 42.2% surge from 2017. Similar growth rates were recorded in the three subsequent years, rising and peaking at 64.1% in 2021, as ad revenues skyrocketed from $2.51 billion to $4.12 billion.

Despite the projected double-digit increase, this year’s growth still lags behind that of other social media platforms. TikTok’s ad revenues are expected to rise by 30.7% in 2024, while Instagram’s and Pinterest’s ad revenues are forecast to grow by 16% and 14.1%, respectively.

Snap earnings prediction: 2025–2027

The forecast for Snapchat’s ad revenues for the coming years shows that a slightly slower annual growth rate of 12.4% is expected in 2025, bringing the figure to $6.87 billion. In 2026 and 2027, the social network is anticipated to generate an average of 10.2% more in ad revenues each year. By 2027, Snapchat’s yearly revenues from ads are projected to be $8.34 billion.

From 2017 to 2027, Snapchat’s ad revenues are forecast to rise at an average annual growth rate of 27.3%.
